Mt. Kailash, located in Tibet, is mentioned in many Hindu texts. According to the beliefs of Hinduism, Mount Kailash is the abode of Lord Shiva. Mount Kailash is considered sacred in Hinduism. Followers of the rreligion come to visit Kailash Mansarovar and circumambulate the mountain. By the way, Mount Kailash holds many mysteries in itself. People believe that many miracles keep happening here. No person has been able to climb this mountain yet.

According to Hindu beliefs, Lord Shiva still resides on Mount Kailash with his family. Along with him, this is also the abode of many gods and goddesses and sages. No common man can go here.

Special siddhi is required to climb Mount Kailash. Only a person who has never committed a sin can climb this mountain alive. Many mountaineers tried to climb Mount Kailash, but they failed.

According to the local people, the sound of Damru and Om is heard around Mount Kailash. The devotees and tourists who come here also hear this sound. The source of these sounds has not been found yet. However, scientists believe that this sound is produced by the wind hitting the snow on the mountain.

According to mythological beliefs, supernatural power resides on Mount Kailash. Virtuous souls live here, it is also called the gate of heaven. Many ascetics still do penance here, so that they are not disturbed, no person can go up. Even if a person tries to climb up, some obstacle definitely comes in his way, or he dies.

Apart from Hindus, the followers of Buddhism and Jainism also consider this place sacred. In Jainism, this area is called Ashtapad. From here, the first Tirthankara Rishabhdev attained salvation. On the other hand, the followers of Buddhism consider it to be the abode of Buddha. The Demchok form of Buddha attained Nirvana from Mount Kailash. In view of the religious beliefs of Mount Kailash, the Chinese government has banned climbing it.

How did Lord Shiva originate —

It is believed that Lord Shiva is self-born, that is, he appeared on his own, but the details of his origin are found in the Puranas. According to Vishnu Purana, Lord Vishnu originated from the navel of Brahmaji. On the other hand, Lord Shiva originated from the brilliance of Vishnu ji’s forehead. According to Vishnu Purana, due to being born from the brilliance of the forehead, Shiv-Shambhu always remains in yoga posture. On the other hand, another belief associated with Lord Shiv-Shambhu is that Nandi and Mahakal are Shankar’s gatekeepers and Rudradevata is a member of Shankar’s Panchayat.

How many wives did Shiva have —

In most places, only two wives of Lord Shiva are mentioned. The first of these was Goddess Sati and the second was Goddess Parvati. If we believe in Hindu mythology, Mahadev had not one or two but four marriages. All his marriages were with Adishakti. Lord Shiva’s first marriage was with Mata Sati. She was the daughter of Prajapati Daksha. When Mata Sati’s father insulted Lord Shiva, she sacrificed her life by burning herself in the yagya kund. After this, she was born as Parvati, the daughter of Himalaya. Adishakti married Lord Shiva for the second time in the form of Mata Parvati. In religious texts, Goddess Uma is said to be the third wife of Lord Shiva. Whereas, his fourth wife is said to be Maa Mahakali.
